Information about parents/players discipline and fines

Jets Football Club is affiliated to the Essex County FA and also to the “Echo” Junior Football League and the Brentwood Community Football Alliance League.  All of these bodies place the safeguarding and welfare of young people high on their agenda and aim to ensure that any child/person under the age of 18 who plays or participates in football, takes part in an enjoyable and safe environment and is protected from abuse.  Therefore, it is the responsibility of every adult involved in football, whether as a parent or spectator, to endorse and adhere to The FA’s Safeguarding Children Policy.

Players Fines
During the course of a match, a player may receive a yellow card due to committing a foul or dissent. Due to the player’s ages (under 18) the cost of yellow cards will be borne by the team. If a player continues to receive yellow cards, the situation will be reviewed by the team manager and the Club. The same will apply to red cards received by players during the course of a match. However, if a player is reported to the County FA due to offences such as offensive/threatening language, lack of respect towards match day officials and any other behaviour deemed to be inappropriate, and the case is found proven by the FA, then the costs of the fine shall be borne by the player’s parents/carers.

Parents/Carers Fines
The match day officials or opposing teams may report parents/carers/spectators due to misconduct or poor behaviour while attending a match. Incidents may include the use of offensive/threatening language, lack of respect towards match day officials and any other such behaviour which may ultimately cause the match to be abandoned.
As a consequence, the FA and/or Leagues may issue the Club with fines ranging from £20 up to £200 depending on the severity of the incident. Any parent/carer/spectator found guilty of misconduct by the FA will be required to bear the costs of the fines. These fines will NOT be paid by the Club.
Therefore, in registering for Jets Football Club, parents/carers shall agree to make prompt payment for any individual self or player fines issued by the FA or the Leagues for any proven misconduct charges.  Failure to pay these fines will result in the immediate suspension of the player from all training and matches until such time as the fine is paid.
